Honor legendary cypher punk, Hal Finney.

Join the “Running Bitcoin Challenge” January 1-10 to raise funds for the Golden West Chapter of the ALS Association in honor of legendary cypher punk, Hal Finney.

Hal was one of the first supporters of bitcoin when Nakamoto floated it on a cryptography mailing list. On January 10, 2009 he famously tweeted: “Running bitcoin”. Two days later he received the first bitcoin transaction for 10 BTC from Satoshi in block 170.

On August 5, 2009, Hal was diagnosed with ALS. He lived valiantly with ALS for 5 more years, and passed away in August, 2014.

Raise funds, earn rare Hal collectibles, and start '22 off right! As Hal would do, test your strength, push your limits, and fight ALS with us!

Join Team Satoshi at the 2nd Running Bitcoin Challenge, a community-wide running event in honor of Hal Finney and to support ALS research.

This event is more than just a global run for freedom - it's a chance to come together and make a difference in the fight against ALS. All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting research and finding a cure for this devastating disease.

In addition to raising funds for a worthy cause, Running Bitcoin is also an opportunity to raise awareness for bitcoin and decentralization. Team Satoshi is a co-organizer of the event and we believe in the power of bitcoin to bring about positive change in the world.

Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking to get active and make a difference, Running Bitcoin is for you. Sportswomen and sportsmen from all walks of life are welcome to participate.

So lace up your sneakers and join us at RunningBitcoin.us. Together, we can honor the memory of Hal Finney and make a difference in the fight against ALS.
